  1. 1. Regarding the return we receive, what are your expectations of whatever Machado trade takes place?

    • The return will be outstanding.
    • The return will be solid.
    • The return will be merely decent.
    • The return will be poor.
    • The return will be just terrible.
    • I expect we will not trade him at all, getting only a compensation pick in next year's draft.

So, in looking at the original poll question....I think the winning poll guess would be a “decent” return although I am willing to consider “solid” as a close second.

For 2 1/2 months, I hereby deem the return "solid".  So let it be written, so let it be done.

Considering Machado isn't going to help the Dodgers that much. He's probably worth 1.5 wins at most going forward, I'd consider this a victory.

Wait, what?  His mean projection on fangraphs is like 2.3 or 2.4 wins ROS.  He’s already put up 3.8 so if he maintains that ROS he will be around 3.  1.5 is super pessimistic.

If he ends up a Three True Outcome guy who can play a decent 3B defensively - I'll definitely take that as a complimentary piece.  But man, he's just in A+ and he's at 30%....

From what I read, he's a big swinger - tries to murder the ball. So adjustments could be made. I think there's potential there.

Though I mean, hey... big swinger that K's a lot... sounds like an Oriole already!

Sure does.  I doubt our system is going to change his approach!

New league, new pitchers, huge media market. Let's talk at the end of the season.
