That’s my thought as well.  Dodgers have always made major investments in the international market.  Why would Colletti join a team that ignores international players?

Because he can’t get a job anywhere else?  Look around the sport. It is ran by young analytic types.

Maybe they're bringing him in to head that up.  Maybe this signifies a change.

But probably not.

Someone like Ned can have young analytic types working for them.  I know you guys want the latest whiz bang from an Ivy League school who measures fart temperatures to predict batting averages but those types can still be employed by the Orioles and work for a guy like Ned.

    • Jered Weaver!! How's that for a random 10+ year old pull? Sadly, he might be the only one! But yes, there has been at least 1.

    • Wow. “Near-ready starter” and consideration in the top 100 based on a breakout in 17.1 IP in AA as a 25 year old? I’d love to see it obviously, but that seems really going out on a limb. Young hasn’t pitched nearly enough in his whole professional career to suggest he can hold up under a full SP workload, or sustain this velo bump. I’m excited for Young and this only reinforces my thought that the Orioles might have something here, but my hopes are still just for a healthy season and maybe he becomes a RP option in 2025.
