I think you’re being harsh on Adam, personally. He’ll get a four year deal somewhere.

No way a team gives a 33 year old in decline a four-year deal.  Especially if the Orioles aren't bidding against themselves anymore.

Ok, they're being overly pessimistic and you're being overly optimistic. No one is signing Jones to a four year deal. He'll get a two year deal or maybe a three year deal if everything falls perfectly in his favor. Spotrac has him listed as the fifth best free agent OF, which is probably a bit optimistic, but it's not that far off. I mean, I'd probably take him over M.Gonzalez (who they have ranked higher) and after AJ Pollock (who they have ranked lower).

He might get a 4 year deal, there is a shortage of COF, but I dont know, really.

I guess we shall see.

For the record, I hope he does, I respect the guy, and appreciate his time here. He had a very good run here.

I think AJ gets at least a 2yr deal between 6-8 mil per year. While he may not be the CF we remember, he'll make a contribution somewhere, especially if he can come to the rationalization he's a COF or Platoon RF at this stage of his career.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner.

No one is signing him to play CF.

Don't be surprised if he ends up back here. 2 years and an option.

I wouldn't be surprised because we have a history of doing dumb with Mr. Angelos & Sons. The flip side is we could be hopefully using that $$$ for analytics, etc instead of a .280 COF for the next 2 90+ losing seasons. If we're being honest, there's no need for him to finish out his career like that here unless it's just a money grab for him at the end.

I don't recommend it, but I can see a scenario where AJ doesn't get much in the way of FA offers and O's don't see a ML ready RF in house, so they sign Jones for a couple more years. Vet leader fan fav etc.

I thnk Buck retires to a part time gig somewhere, and by his choosing.

I dont see much of a market for Adam, and it wont not surprise me to see him retire out.

Ryan, might make a roster somewhere as a cheap and capable utility infielder, heck, he could even come back here, since they need 25 players and most spots are sitting open with question marks. Yes, I know, bring in the youngsters and throw them to the wind, but there are only so many of them.

You have lost your damn mind.

If that happens it means whomever they brought in to be president doesn't have the ultimate decision making authority.

No way a team like the 2019 Orioles needs an Adam Jones.

    • Elias loves him some veteran presence.  Frazier, Odor.  They will go out of their way to use old people whenever they can and not use the future until they have no other choice.  Its just what they do.  They always will fall back on "love the way they turn the double play"  which is code for "yeah they suck but we are using them no matter what".  With Odor you could respect it a little because he knocked Bautista in the mouth and who can not love that?
    • His birthday is Sep.27.     I don’t consider September 27 to be rapidly approaching.
    • Not sure what you mean?  We are not going to win a WS with players like Hayes, Mullins, Urias etc.   I think that is obvious.   What am I missing here?
    • I cannot blame any athlete for being inconsistent if you are only getting 1 or 2 bats every few days.  No one can get into a rhythm doing that.  Whether you play baseball or are a QB or play tennis or bowling.   His minor league numbers have been more than stellar.......so for heavens sake play him.  He is what...25?  Are the Os going to wait until he is 28? Pretty ridiculous when you think about the number of players in the majors who are younger than him.   And don't even get me started on Mayo.   I love Elias.  Want him to be with the Os for a long time.  But he is starting to remind me Chris Ballard with the Colts.  Both are great students of the game and judges of talent, but just so so conservative.   It drives the Colts fans like me crazy, and it is starting to drive the O's fans, like me.....crazy.
    • I get the respect the team has for the starting OF. They were here for, and were all keys to, the Orioles becoming relevant again. My hope was they could play well enough to get to the ASB so they could ride off to the proverbial sunset gracefully and let the youngsters come up. But it's not even June and Hays and Mullins are under .200 and Tony is barely above.  I'm not sure what to do.
    • It’s a SSS with sporadic playing time. Nothing can be taken from those numbers.
