Kevin Millwood retired with $130 million in the bank, and a completely, splendidly mediocre record as a baseball pitcher.

Gotta tip your cap.

Can't believe that guy won a Cy Young.  Rode that season all the way to that 130 million, I believe.  I think people thought Maddux/Smoltz/Glavine would rub off on him and he'd be great.  That's how good THOSE guys were.  They got Kevin Millwood PAID.

I can't believe it either!

What year do you think he won the Cy Young?

Where does the $130 million figure come from?  BBRef has him at just under $90 million.

A little high on the free passes (3 Walks in 6 Innings Pitched), but this was another solid outing overall for young John Alan Means.

56% of the outs that he recorded (10 out of 18) came via the Groundout and the Strikeout.

18 OUTS: 4 Strikeouts, 4 Groundouts (Including 2 Double Plays), 3 Popouts, 3 Lineouts, 1 Foulout, 1 Flyout

One of the free passes was Trout.  That's not bad...he has a 1.000 OPS on a plate appearances where he walks.  He has an overall 1.035 OPS so walking him lowers his overall OPS, a minor victory (especially for a LHP).

Interestingly, all 3 walks came on full counts.
