If it makes anyone feel better Nestor Cortes has pitched 3 2/3rds scoreless. Two outs bottom 9,  tie game. Yanks scores 3 top 9 to tie it.

Hays and Stewart and Santander were ticketed to Norfolk.   I guess we decided we'd rather have Mason WIlliams at Norfolk than Yaz and we let him go.   Giants picked him up and he had been in AAA until yesterday.

So all you are saying is pitch Paul Fry or someone in the first inning and then come on with Straily or Hess or Ynoa anyway.   You think that will really solve our problem?

Well, Hess has a .211/.274/.561 split in his first 25 pitches so yes he probably would do better if he only had to pitch three innings or so after the opener starts the game.

Gotta love that Nats bullpen.   They had a 9-0 lead in the 8th and by the end of the game the Marlins had the tie run on deck.
