Nah. You need everything, but forcing picks of pitchers in a hitter draft doesn't seem too smart.

Drafting for need can mean drafting for system need.   Our lower minors are loaded with potentially solid to great pitchers.

So even though our major league staff is horrible, our "need" in terms of system wide could still be more position players than pitchers.

Hence drafting several dozen shortstops last week!

Ortiz and Rogers are part of the haul the Duke extracted from desperate clubs in playoff contention last year.   Hopefully his moves pay dividends in the years and decades to come to.
