O’s drafts in 2010 and later: not so bad?

I’ll be interested to see who the Rays are getting.    Must be someone pretty decent if Liberatore is heading the other way.   It’s a bit unusual to see Tampa trading prospects, but their system is stacked right now and they’re coming off a 96-win season so they can afford to trade a good prospect so long as the return is something they need.

Be interesting to see if money is going to the Rays.

It’s quite unusual to hear about a trade involving a minor leaguer before you hear who the major leaguers are.    Usually it’s the other way around.

That’s quite a good return.    The Cards must really like Liberatore.    Bader was a 2 WAR CF last year and O’Neill was BA’s no. 36 prospect going into last season.    They’re 26 and 25, respectively, and under control for 4 and 5 years.    Woodford is essentially major league ready after throwing 151 innings at a 4.15 ERA in the hitter-friendly PCL last year.

It looks like the Rays are taking advantage of Boston being horrible.

I don’t know about horrible, but they certainly haven’t been making any serious moves this offseason after winning 84 games last year.
