We should be trading from two areas

1. Players whose contracts will be expired by the time we are playoff competitive. I think that should be 2022, but Elias may think otherwise. No need to keep them if we have an offer for future prospects

2. Positions of strength. I would put catcher and relief pitchers in this group. Who needs them?

Indians.

While I don't think they'll trade Santander, if they think Diaz is better or Kjerstad will move fast enough, it might not be a bad idea. The Indians are in desperate need of an outfielder and have some good infield and pitching prospects.

And trading him to the Indians would be hilarious.

I wonder what teams are out there that are looking for a young corner outfielder under team control at relatively reasonable prices through 2024?  A team that's building, but has a couple years until contention.

If you're saying that he's the type of player the O's should want to have right now.. I sorta agree. Sorta. He shouldn't be untouchable. He should be for sale at the right price. We're potentially more than a couple of years away from contention.

Difficult to believe we would get a prospect rated as high as Marquez.  Maybe there is some divergence on his evaluation, but Baseball America had Marquez as the Cubs top prospect entering 2020 and the 8th best LHP in the minors.

It is difficult also to see Mike Yaz's name there - difficult to comprehend just how badly our front office was ripped off in that trade.  We are likely a near lock for this year's playoffs with Mancini, Mountcastle and Yaz in our current lineup.

Yeah some evaluations I was reading said he could be a top of the rotation guy. No way you get that for a solid non-closer reliever.  Givens isn't in the same league as Chapman or Miller
