2021 Orioles Hangout Minor League All-Star Team

Just for fun, I'd thought I'd put together an all-star lineup for 2021. They don't necessarily have to be the best prospect, but who had the best year.

Need at least 300 PAs and must have played the majority of their time at that position or 80 IP for a starter, 40 as a reliever to qualify.

Didn't have a better year than Westburg statistically and I only went one deep.

Really impressive to see all the high OBPs.  I know that its just the minors, but good to see the O's emphasis on controlling the strike zone and the resultant rise in OBP.

Cool list. I thought about Zach Watson in CF but that K:BB ratio is ugly. Otherwise, good season.

I had almost forgotten about Hudson Haskin - surprised to see he had that many plate appearances.  Plus he got 22 steals.

He was considered. I could have gone that way, but went with the higher OPS overall and much better OBP of Haskins. The K-BB with the low average is a concern of mine with Watson overall.

Still a decent year, 20-20 in the minors is a nice feat.

Tony, you should have thrown a clunker in there for us to argue about!  This is such a good list, all we can do is say, "yeah, good list."  Also, it's a good list for two reasons.  First, the choices are well thought and pretty clear.  Second, there are a lot of really good prospects there.  One of them has already had a cup of coffee in the bigs (Jones) and he might be the lowest rated of the bunch.  Several players here that you could see having decent ML careers, or at least a real shot.

Not sad about having to leave off Henderson and Mayo.  That means things are getting a bit deeper, IMO.

Mayo just didn't have enough PAs. I plan to make an All 1st year All-Star team as well!

Mayo didn't have enough PAs to qualify. I plan to do a 1st year list shortly and I can guarantee he will be on there!

I might have gone Henderson over Jones.  Jones was disappointing to me…though he’d hit for higher average.
