That was exactly my point in asking the question. People think his first stretch in MLB determines who he will be going forward. That sample size is ridiculously small. -

I’m with you. Especially when the inning runs long and the interviewer and player are struggling to still come up with something to say. Fortunately the amazing Kevin Brown rarely has those awkward moments. -
I'm not down on Mayo and have seen very little of his defense, so my comment wasn't meant to drag him in the mud. But I expected flashier just because it was a highlight, although social media highlights are not exactly prime ESPN web gems these days. They looked like two plays that your average ML 3B makes without a lot of fanfare to me. But I wasn't commenting on Mayo's overall defense, just that I expected a little more when I clicked on the videos. The first play looked a bit like when an outfielder dives for a ball and makes a cool catch that a really good outfielder makes look totally routine. Just my opinion and I'm only wrong like 235 times a day. -

Tennis players almost never tear their UCL. Even Nadal with his unorthodox explosive swing never had elbow problems. Bryan Baker (no, not our Bryan) is the only one I remember and can find documented. I do wish the O’s were more forthcoming with minor league injuries but it may be we will never know what is the issue and he just ends up back on the field playing full time without explanation. Hoping so and sooner than later.
