I think the quote has been taken out of context. It's no different than the famous Gayle Sayers quote that inspired his book "I Am Third".

Rendon:

"It's never been a top priority for me," Rendon said. "This is a job. I do this to make a living. My faith, my family come first before this job. So if those things come before it, I'm leaving."

Sayers:

“The Lord is first, my friends are second, and I am third.”

I loved that book, and I appreciate you sharing that quote, it puts everything in perspective.

And he’s correct, for what it’s worth. God and family are definitely first.

Rendon is going to be shocked one day when he finds out God is THE baseball fan of them all.

Yeah I never really thought he looked at it a heck of a lot differently than a lot of guys. Difference is, a lot of guys know better than to open their big mouths.

I will have to watch the Brewers/Mets game tomorrow and keep an eye on Ortiz and Hall.

I'm really surprised DL Hall is getting the start in game number two for the Brewers. I think Hall ultimately ends up being a relief pitcher, but I guess the Brewers are determined to see if he can be a starter with his arm. I

I'm out of rep already. You're welcome.

He also had one a few years ago that was probably just him saying he doesn't like watching baseball.

Which, I think a lot of players aren't huge fans of watching baseball.

After he said his most recent comments there were former teammates of his that came out and said it's a well known thing that he hates the sport.

I did not see that.

He must of have really upset some folks for people to call him out like that.

Or was it all off the record stuff?

To an extent I understand what Rendon meant, but his effort and production really doesn't jive when you compare it directly to the timing of his huge contract.

Yeah, he could've benefitted from some PR guidance, probably.
