I thought it was his proposed batting order because the title of the thread is "Ideal 2025 lineup" -
Probably not but after the last offseason I'm not sure how many teams are going to be willing to take on super-risky contracts for pitching, even pitching of Burnes' caliber. -
Hicks gets the league minimum, why wouldn't they try to sign him as a bench player. The fact they offered the league minimum does not mean they will offer 250M dollars to Burnes. -

All I know is I would get creative with the offer by using opt outs and other tools available to the negotiations. A guy like Burnes wants to know he's valuable. And he can get that value in number without being locked in or over committed to a contract that is too long for either parties. Most players, when given an opt out, usually opt out. Because money in the hand now is worth more than money in the hand later and when they see the inflation, they want to go for a new contract the 1st chance they get. I would leverage all these things to reach an agreement that makes Corbin happy, and is still healthy for the franchise. -
I suspect you can get away with it a little more in middle relief but our high-leverage guys, Cano (7.6), Coulombe (9.0), and Webb (9.6) all have K-Rates below 9 for their careers. If you can't get strikeouts in the later innings in close games, you'll likely not end up on the right side of things as much as you should.

I wasn't even taking a shot at SG. I was speaking TO the person I quoted, and nobody else (imagine that), and saying I agree with you, and don't think that response was appropriate because you're right. Serves me right for agreeing with someone. I'll never make that mistake again. I'd hate that to seem passive aggressive to someone I don't even know exists. -
I think the NYY playing at nearly a .700 clip and riding a 7 game win streak has skewed the perception about the O's team so far. Cleveland and KC are the only other AL teams above .600. Things would look a lot different if the O's were 5 games up right now. It is similar to last year and the start that the Rays had.
