I can understand Hyde thinking due to having Baker on the team. Hard to have 2 mop up guys in the bullpen. Not justifying it at all.

Just following in this thread didn't  realize that Smith just bailed out Soto's mess.  Hyde 101: How to wear out your bullpen.  When a starter is dominating, take him out early and put in your worst reliever.  Then if he doesn't lose the game, use one of your better relievers to bail him out, burning 2 relievers in 1 inning.

Eloy has accrued 0.2 WAR and is 12 for 30 with the O’s. Yes, he’s been a positive factor *so far*. Slater is 6 for 17.
