How does an organization fit between 30-50 new players into their lower MiL systems every year?

Guys get cut, minor league FA, some guys retire. Also, some guys will be injured and some will stay at extended spring and short season teams. Just alot of fluidity.

And fifteen to twenty go unsigned. Some are redundancies who are given the opportunity to sign before his dopelganger does.

I'm not basing this on anything concrete, but I wonder if this was a case of scouting Coats a good bit and discovering Pena.

Could Be. I think Joe knows the Texas/Oklahoma kids like his own though.

Kevin Jacob (Georgia Tech senior and Parkville HS grad) slipped a bit this year (18th round last year to 31st round this year). Anyone know if he was 100% healthy this year? I know he had shoulder issues last year. Too many walks this year, but was wondering where he was with his velocity.
