Sadly yes. Cano is maddening because it makes so much sense. Its the decisive Mahanian battle that destroys the Yankees and opens up a trade for a young controllable pitcher at the same time.

It makes so much sense except for the fact that Cano is already 31 and wants more than $200 million.

The attachment below is a 7 PM tonight update similar to the one posted earlier.

Well it says the Cubs want young pitchers who are nearly MLB ready. I think that keeps the Orioles out as we don't have any of those. If we did we wouldn't need to trade for a pitcher.

10 years 300 is absurd. 8 for 200 I'd do in a heartbeat. The last couple of years might be dicey but the first 5 or so would be very very nice.

Think of the impact of adding Cano to this lineup. I know, and you know, it's not going to happen. But that would sure be a move that says we are looking to contend.

Wouldn't guys like Britton and Matusz count as "young and ML ready"?

Well, they haven't been able to start for us so I don't know we can convince Theo of that. It worked with Arrieta and Strop, but that was only for a half season of Feldy. They might want a little more for Samardzija.
