Roch: Hardy's Shoulder Injury

What is your evidence he is breaking down? It is one injury sustained in a diving play I believe. Why don't we wait to see if he gets injured again this season before saying he is breaking down.

He missed significant games last year with a bad back, and many attributed his back pain for causing a drop to just 9 HRs. Going from 20+ HRs to 9 is my evidence of breaking down. Get ready for his next shoulder surgery to get rid of his "little catch at the end of his swing"

So one injury now means breaking down?

Is your boy Xander Bogaerts breaking down?

Hardy is taking live batting practice today. He hopes to do so tomorrow, also.

He will not be playing at AA-Bowie before (at least) Friday.

Hardy also states that once he goes on his rehab assignment, he won't need more than 20 plate appearances to get ready.

It (his rehab assignment) should be brief.

Cabrera is playing well at SS right now and he's fun to watch. They can take their time and be extra cautious with Hardy as far as I'm concerned.

Yes he is. So are Snider and De Aza. Still early but these three could make DD look like a genius again.

Cabrera's got great range. Last night, he made a play on a lefty shift that may have been a base hit with Hardy. I want JJ back, but Cabrera was a really nice pick up. He also moves right real well where he can get his weight on his back foot and make a good throw.

James Jerry Hardy will work out with AAA-Norfolk today.

He's not expected to begin his rehab assignment yet ...... but he's there.

Hardy is not healing.

No live BP.

Baltimore Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy has taken a step back in his return from a shoulder injury.

Hardy, who began working out with the Norfolk Tides today, had taken live batting practice in a similar stint with Double-A Bowie. But Hardy said he’s regressed to hitting off a tee, as he did this morning in an indoor cage at Harbor Park.

At Bowie, Hardy found he wasn’t quite ready for live BP.

“It didn’t go bad, but it didn’t go as well as we would’ve liked
