We have our worst starting pitcher on the mound, our worst position player in the field, and we're playing a team that is at .500 and has otherwise been above .500 since sometime in May. The opposing pitcher is a soft-tossing veteran who will absolutely stymie our straight fastball-hitting batters who find it incomprehensible that a ball can move in the vertical direction between the time it leaves the hand and when it crosses the plate.

What could possibly go wrong?
