vs. RANGERS, 6/29

OFFNY

Recommended Posts

He was bad, but this guy has two pitches and he can't do anything vs. lefties.

And Arrieta, as we always knew, had a tremendous potential upside. He has a 2.94 ERA in 15 starts for the Cubs this year.

He was not going to realize his upside with the O's, but he had enormous potential. This is all Bud is. He had amazing defense and good offense backing him pretty consistently last year, allowing us to forget how horrible he was. This year our defense has regressed a little and the offense doesn't produce for Bud like it used to. His ERA and win-loss are more in line with what he is, now. This guy could potentially be slightly better than he is this year, but not MUCH better. He isn't in the same league as Arrieta, Tillman, Gonzalez, Chen, Gausman, Jimenez, or even Tommy Hunter.

His leash is as long as his high salary... $8.8 million. Hard to trade that. Expensive to just eat it.
