Didn't we beat Price not too long ago when we faced him?

Confidence is high. Miley has to pitch his finest game yet as an Oriole.

Let's go O's. Critical game.

David Price has faced the O's 3 times this year:

April 11th at home: 5 IP, 5 ER

June 14th at home: 8 IP, 3 ER

August 17th away: 6 IP, 1 ER

David Price has been a different pitcher pre vs. post ASB.

Pre: 4.34 ERA

I think the O's can hit him. But I'm extremely worried about Miley.

They're averaging 5.6 R/G.

And it's not like they're weak against lefties.

Righties: .288/.351/.474 - .825 OPS

Lefties: .279/.352/.450 - .801 OPS

...so a very minor dropoff in slugging.

Perhaps more concerning is Miley pitching against them at Fenway. At home: .304/.369/.498 - .867 OPS.

He's never faced the Red Sox before. So maybe he'll get lucky?

That lineup is so much better against lefties than what the O's were trotting out there in July. Even if he doesn't hit, Pearce was a really smart acquisition with all these pivotal games against the likes of Price, Pomeranz, Rodriguez, and Happ.

I concur.

Pearce vs Price (23 AB): 7 hits, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1 BB, 5 K, .768 OPS

by the way...

Stubbs vs Price (8 AB): 4 hits, 1 3B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 3 K, 1.306 OPS

Any chance we can get Kim back into the #2 spot tomorrow? We need to get to Porcello early and before the Red Sox crack Gausman. It'd be nice if we could have the player with the highest on-base percentage on our team be towards the top of the order and make them throw more pitches.

Bourn or Kim tonight in the OF? Big game, Buck might go with defense. I might agree. Flash is 6 for 11 or Porcello.

I vote Bourn.

Me too. I like the better fielding guy out there.

If Scoop hadn't hit a homerun last night, I'd almost favor the past results even with a small sample size lineup.

Flash at 2nd since he's hit Porcello both for average and power. Kim and Stubbs in the corners. Wieters catching. Trumbo DHing. Since Scoop seems to be getting hot, how about Flash in the outfield?

I understand it. Right field is tough to play at Fenway and Flashes numbers hard to ignore versus Porcello but what does Kim have to do to get in the lineup?

https://twitter.com/EddieInTheYard/status/776145471274311680

Bucks finding every possible reason to leave him on the bench. Michael Bourn is replacement level and has a 80 wRC+ this year and doesn't have an impressive resume vs Porcello for his usual justification.

Flaherty in the outfield is a joke every time it happens.
