Trade deadline possibilities

That is obviously a small sample size but I think it holds true when expanded. The key to low pitch counts is mostly avoiding baserunners, particularly walks..
That or getting alot of groundball double plays. When you can get two outs in one pitch that makes a huge difference.

IMHO it's damn near impossible to get double plays without base runners.

So far the deadline has been very very slow and quiet not just for the Orioles but also most major league teams. It seems like they are all waiting to see who blinks first the sellers or buyers.

Yup seems lots of talk on insane prices specifically for pitching and that's why the stalemate. I'm guessing floodgates will open with less than 24 hours left. Surely these teams can't be expecting top 5 prospects for the likes of hellickson, etc. just not realistic and if they take draft picks instead...more power to them.

Rangers pick up Lucas Harrell for a minor league infielder. They also got a lefty reliever.

Harrell pitched for a couple teams for 5 years in the majors, then went to Korea last year.

This year, starting about 5 games for the Braves, he had a 3.38 ERA.

Is he their primary starting pitching pickup or are they still in the market?
