Seriously people, please stop resurrecting these threads from 3 months ago. There are PLENTY of other current threads to discuss trade possibilities and current news.

Would it really make you feel that much better if the thread was just called "Miguel Castro?"

If we trade Britton, Brach, O'day the 2018 pen doesn't look that bad.

Givens, Scott, Castro, Bleier, Hart, Wright, Asher

With Liranzo, Long,  Yacobonis, Chricton, Worthington, Faulkner in the wings.

That looks pretty bad to me. That would be Givens plus a bunch of unknowns, and Givens is far from a sure thing.

It doesn't bother me if a poster resurrects a trade from the past.

It'd be a lot of question marks that could go either way. And guys like Yacabonis and Crichton aren't "in the wings," they're retreads that would probably bring replacement-level value at best.

Plus I had forgot how the heck we got Castro.  It's all nice and tidy in this thread.

Update on Gunkel,  He's been demoted to AA with the Marlins and has a 5.48 ERA in 64 IP.

It would make me feel better if you didn't respond to the thread at all (after it ran it's course). Focus on the current news...especially with the trade deadline right around the corner. I get it that this probably isn't a popular opinion for the retirement lifers who post on this board 24/7, but for the laymen who log on (when the can) to keep up with current news it would be much appreciated.

How's the starting rotation look?

Is Bleier a known unknown?

Absolutely. He is basically TJ McFarland 2014 at this point. He might be a nugget, but might just be a guy who has gotten lucky. Throws strikes but 4.0 K/9 does not bode well. No idea what to expect from him long term.

Given that his proposed scenario means flipping Britton, Brach and O'Day, I'd hope the starting rotation would look a little better.

I really don't see those guys bringing in starters who will have positive impact on 2018 rotation - would free up money to possibly get a FA.

Hey, I might be older than most around here (just turned 60), but I'm hardly retired!    I'm at the office about 50-55 hours a week on average.

Most of us find it convenient to have a go-to thread focused on each player to post in when discussing that player, rather than having 15 Castro threads floating around.    This just happens to be the thread where people discuss Castro.    The fact that the thread title relates to his initial acquisition doesn't bother me.
