R.A. Dickey?

The Braves just declined Dickey's 8 mil option for next year. He just turned 43 years old and would probably accept a one-year deal (if he wants to keep playing).  Could he be an option for the Os and their all-in on 2018 strategy?

 

Take a look at some of his 2017 numbers:

 

Dickey- 4.26 ERA over 31 starts and 190.0 IP. 2.2 WAR.

Bundy- 4.24 ERA over 28 starts and 169.2 IP.  2.7 WAR.

Gausman- 4.68 ERA over 34 starts and 186.2 IP.  1.8 WAR.

He would not be my first choice.  Looks like someone that the O's would settle for in February if they can't find better.

I'm all for it.  They need three more starters.  If you can get 180 innings of 100 ERA+ for 1/8-10, you do it. (Considering our minor leagu options).

And when we are 27 games out by July, you can throw Dickey every other day to save callups.

So Wilhelm might not pass an Oriole physical? Does anyone know who caught the pitcher that was converted into a knuckle baller in the minors?Eddie Gamboa.I was wondering if Sisco ever caught him.
