I dunno, could be a typo, could be a miss-classification, could be a little league style inside the park job (maybe knocked into the ground, gets past a slow first baseman and into a weird corner).

ball hit to the OF shallow and drops as the OF leaps for it, misses, and the ball rolls slowly to the fence, and the hitter is flying around the bases.
