What to do with Ryan Adams?

If you've played an IF position, you have too much time at 3b also. Honestly, the only IF position where guys don't normally get the "yips" is SS for some reason. At 3B, granted, it's a long throw - but the ball gets to you so quickly you have a LOT of time.

As for what Jordan says, sure, if we can point to something "mechanical" for a player to think about "fixing" it's much easier than fixing something "mental". Bottom line, don't care what anyone says - it's in his HEAD. If he used his feet, would it help. Sure, but the first time he tosses one away, there are more coming...guaranteed.

Also, let me say that if the ORIOLES drafted a kid OUT OF HS, in the 2nd ROUND, paid him all that money - he BETTER NOT be LOCKED in to ONE POSITION. That's a terrible draft decision, if that's the case (unless you're a STUD LHP -oops, have to sign him still).

Our outfield {Angle, Nowicki, and Pope} that we have now has been the greatest out field in like what 5 yrs.?? So why would we put others that have made over 50% of our errors in our good outfield?

Ordinarily I'd suggest trying him at catcher, but if he's got footwork problems that could be a disaster. Maybe being a catcher will force him to concentrate more since you are involved in every play.

Outside of that, centerfield perhaps?

Interesting comment about the defense of the current Delmarva OF. So of the three OFs, who is the strongest? What are their relative strengths and weaknesses?

Because Nowicki and Pope have no Major League future, Adams might. The long-term development of the big league club is more important than the short-term success of the Shorebirds.

Adams might need to be moved eventually but if there's any place you want a player working things out, it's in the minors. I agree, it's in his head to degree. At the same time, it's too early to just give up on him, if 2B is the position he profiles best at.

Everyone should just remember this kid has come a long way,two months ago he couldn't hit.Gotta give some time to focus on the fielding now that his bats come around.

Adams 2 HR's...one was legit, the other a POP UP that the RF would have moved a couple steps and waited for in Delmarva...but since it's just over 300 feet to the RC GAP it went over for a HR (granted, it was still an HR). That said - NO ERRORS LAST NIGHT w/ multiple opportunities...and some of the critical chances. So maybe he's mentally moving on? That would be fantastic for him and the organization.

As for the OF's...Angle is the best defensively, Nowicki has a pretty strong arm (although Angle's isn't bad). Pope simply cannot throw, takes poor routes and has very little confidence in the OF. Kind of like a true LF. Unfortunately for Pope unless the pitcher hits his bat (he swings on the same plane on virtually every swing), it's going to be a poor result.
