Younger Davis would have.

But Nunez didn't even have to catch it.   He just had to block it and the run wouldn't have scored (yet).   Or if they could have gotten the lead runner on the play before the run wouldn't have scored (yet).

So a lot had to go wrong beyond just RIo's bad throw for that run to score.

With both Severino and Holaday playing well, there have been a number of comments about making Sisco a part-time  first baseman. That makes some sense. But Chance has one inning at 1B in his pro career.. You just saw what can happen when you put an inexperienced first baseman there.
