New Steve Dalkowski Documentary

I think most us die hard Orioles fans love the legend of Steve Dalkowski. There's been a lot written about him, but I just found a new documentary (27 mins) on him made for the Connecticut Public TV channel.

Great find. Dalkowski has always fascinated me. Will watch this weekend.

Watched it...and...

Don't get me wrong, Dalkowski is an interesting story for obvious reasons.  And while the documentary does a good job of showing some interviews and anecdotes, newspaper archives...and also delving into how bad his alcoholism was...It doesn't bring a lot of new things to the table.  

In other words, how many different ways can you tell the story of a guy who supposedly threw harder than anyone ever but was just as notoriously wild?  I think the holy grail is someone finding video of Dalkowski pitching, to my knowledge it doesn't exist.  

It was a good documentary and worth watching but again...doesn't bring anything necessarily new to the table.

I thought they might get into more of what happened during his career off field and perhaps more into what happened afterwards, but I think there is a lot of blank parts because Dalkowski wanted it that way.

I'm probably going to get the book and see if there is more in there.
