But in his good years Stanhouse had really good command. He just didn't want to throw strikes to good hitters, especially with the bases empty or just one on. He nibbled, trying to get swings on pitches out of the zone. If guys got on, and he usually put somebody on, he could and did throw strikes when he was on his game. And when he was at his peak, he was almost always on on his game.

Weaver hated him on the field. But loved him deep down.

Yeah, it's halftime, and those 2 schools from Texas are playing other ...... it's not as important as today's Oriole game, but it's something.
