Like Stowers, he swing so hard that when he does hit the ball, he typically hits it hard. With the upper cut in his swing, when he gets the ball airborne it tends to go far.

But, he strikes out about half as often as Stowers.  Also, Stowers has a 1.25 GO/AO ratio, while Rutschman is at 0.72. Was a little surprised by that.

Stowers really has a violent swing. I'm surprised he hits for as high an average as he has, but its not surprising that Rutschman strikes out less. Although Rutschman swings hard, it looks more under control than Stowers who falls over occasionally or becomes off balance when he misses.

Stowers reminds me of Colby Rasmus.

The blonde hair reminds me of Eric Byrnes.

I don’t think that high average will last. His BABIP has to be insane with as much as he strikes out.

So long as it’s the version who played for STL, TOR and HOU, I’d be OK with that.   The version who played for TBR and us? No thanks.

Revisiting the 2019 draft for a moment

1. AR - Stuck in AA, despite having solid numbers.
2. Bobby Witt Jr. - Having a monster year between AA and AAA.
3. Andrew Vaughn - Having a nice rookie season with the White Sox.
4. JJ Bleday - Have an underwhelming season at AA.
5. Riley Greene - Putting up solid numbers at AA.

CJ Abrams was having a nice year at AA until he fractured his ti lía and sprained his mcl. Pretty solid draft class at the top so far.

Severino leaves the game and could be headed to the IL.  I guess they would bring up Cumberland and move Adley to AAA.  Could they bring Adley up?  Probably not but it is probably easy to say he is the better player in the minors by far.

I think there is close to a zero percent chance they bring him up this year.  I was listening to an O's podcast the other day, and they made an interesting point about the number of guys we will need to protect in the Rule 5 draft this winter, and the value of a 40 man spot.  They felt there was no way they'd give a 40 man spot to AR as they will need that spot later for a Rule 5 eligible player.  Setting aside service time issues and other considerations, the roster crunch this winter may be the strongest reason for me to not see him in the MLB this year.  Granted, we've a ton of dead weight on the 40 right now, but we may need every spot we can get or lose another Pop this winter, and then watch everyone lose their collective minds.  ?
