Why so hard on Johnson? It’s been said he is the best prep hitter in over a decade and has a 70-80 grade current hit tool? Has a great make up with high baseball IQ.

I have stated a few times on here. 
 

watch the video ms of him, struggles with throws on the right hand side of SS. Why are skipping Jones, Hokiday, Lee, Parada, a bunch of other guys for a 2nd?

His height. Ben McDonald, just 2 days ago said he wasn’t a fan of his at 1:1 bc of his height.

I am not a fan of Law’s analysis honestly.

Ha ha.  Tell Matt Hi.  Not what I meant though.  All GMs make mistakes.  Ours too.  Obviously, from a draft perspective, time will tell for Elias. Seemingly he has made some good decisions and bad so far.  

My point is whatever decision he is making, it is based off of exponentially more detail and data than we as fans get to look at prior to making a call.

And yet sometimes Matt Hobgoods get their named called.  Hopefully whoever it is, will work out.  But I think these guys have at least earned a right to some benefit of doubt that they at least do the proper homework.  I am not blindly assuming a home run either.  If Elias drafts a Hobgood and passes on a HOF, history will hold him accountable regardless of what we say here.

We want the same thing.  A ring!

I admit I am kinda intrigued by Rocker.  I don't know what Elias would do, but I would love to see the opportunity to find out.

Don't really know where else to put this so I'll just leave it here:

"The Royals are finalizing a trade to acquire minor league outfielder Drew Waters and minor league righty Andrew Hoffmann from the Braves in exchange for their Competitive Balance pick (No. 35 overall) in the 2022 draft, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports (via Twitter). A third minor leaguer is also expected to head to Kansas City in the deal."

Found this deal to be pretty interesting. Waters was a top 100 guy but is in his THIRD year at AAA and is somehow doing as poorly as he's ever done at the level. Hoffman is putting up good numbers this year but is only ranked 23rd in a pretty bad system. Head scratcher of a move for the Royals but could the Braves be targeting Rocker???

We have over 10 years of history with Mike Elias drafting high, including four previous times he’s had the first pick between Houston and Baltimore, and every time, they kept it under their hats, and then put their hats in a locked safe, and then sent the safe to the apocalypse seed depository on Svalbard. My educated guess, based primarily on Elias & Co.’s history, is that the five or six names in their mix (a number Elias himself offered up about a month ago) include Lee, Druw Jones, Termarr Johnson, Jackson Holliday, and maybe Cam Collier or Jacob Berry. Elijah Green would surprise me. Elias said they’re probably not taking a pitcher, which for him is an extreme level of candor..."

I previously though Holliday but I think it will be Lee as well.  Some comments by Elias plus the rumor that  Lee is loved by Sig make me lean in that direction.   I also think the Orioles go HS bat with their 2nd pick based on Elias' comments yesterday ("we'll see who's there") which both lead me to think the 1:1 is not a HS bat and the #33 pick is.  After that, it gets even foggier but I'd guess a college pitcher before a HS pitcher.

Because he's 5-8 or 5-9. Could Johnson become a solid major league 2B? Sure, but I dont really want that at 1-1.

Braves fan here.

I love this trade.  Waters is stuck in triple A.

3rd baseman C.J. Alexander is stuck in double A.

I do hate to trade pitchet Andrew Hoffman.  12th round pick last year out of Illinois just promoted to AA.  Very dominant in High A

The 35th pick has a slot value of $ 2.2 million.

My best guess is their 1st round pick, #20 overall, is gonna be a tough overslot signing and they need the money.  Almost certainly a pitcher.

I like Brooks Lee to the Orioles at 1-1.  65 grade hit tool for the switch hitter.  Can play 2nd or 3rd.  IF HENDERSON OR WESTBURG CAN PLAY SHORT !!!!

Anybody but Berry.  It upsets me every time I see his name mentioned as a #1 pick.  He's not even in the top 10, imo.
