Sounds like the new owner sold his previous business and is getting into sports for the first time.   He also bought the Keys, not that we care anymore.   

The previous owner, Ken Young, still owns the Tides and a couple of other teams not affiliated with the O’s.

He sounds like a real hoot.

Anyone else's eyes glaze over as they read that?

 

I hope to not hear from him in the future.  (I figure if a guy in his position is in the news odds are really good it's bad.)

Well, I have to assume the guy, though not in an interesting line of work, must love baseball.    No other reason to divert your resources to owning a minor league baseball team.   It’s certainly not a license to print money, best I can tell.

Whenever I see something like this occur, it brings visions of stripped down venues, overworked and unhappy employees, a gradual erosion of the customer base, all in the name of cost-cutting for a better bottom line.

I sure hope this will be different.

I sure hope they will improve their MiLB TV broadcast and add a center field camera. The Baysox's broadcasts have been an embarrassment. One of the worse in all of baseball, and definitely the worse in AA from what I've seen.

Ken probably sold low on the Keys since they're technically not in affiliated ball anymore. Knew he wanted to get out of Bowie and Frederick for a while now. I think this is the second buyer for both in about a decade the the third potential suitor for Frederick in the same time span. Happy new ownership is coming in.

The third line applies to anyone that owns a minor league team.   If they make the news it's generally bad, it's a pretty anonymous position.

As for the other stuff, that's just my reaction to the terminology used in the write up.

Did you read it lol? It is boring. Guy has spent his whole life between managing and running services for various government contracts and as a consultant.

I really regret not buying into bitcoin, and making fun of it when it came out. If I had known it would be a legal ponzi scheme, I could have bought the Baysox....
