Orioles get Brett Phillips

Brett Phillips was drafted by the Astros in 2012 so the trade makes a little more sense because of Elias. It still doesn't make sense when looking at the Orioles outfield depth even if Santander (or another outfielder) is traded in the next two minutes.

Yanks traded Montgomery for Bader from the Cards. Not sure why they wouldn’t have just grabbed Phillips as it’s apparently mainly for defense. That’s puzzling too.

Well Bader is obviously way better than Phillips.  And the Yankees did try to get Phillips.
