Predicting 2023 Opening Day Lineup and Predictions (Edit: It's posted)

We are just under 24 hours until first pitch of the 2023 season against the Boston Redsox. What is your prediction for the Orioles starting lineup?

I will take a shot at it:

Mullins CF
Rutschman C

Santander DH

Mountcastle 1B

Hays LF

Henderson 3B

Stowers RF

Frazier 2B

Mateo SS

It is really weird leaving a guy on the bench who won a gold glove for us last year.

I think you're right, but I think Henderson should be hitting in from of Hays and will be in a month or 2.

Anyone have any other thoughts on the lineup today? Will Hyde get Urias in the opening day lineup somewhere?

I'm expecting Stowers to not be in it. Perhaps Santander to RF and Urias to DH?

I think the only real question is if Urias or Stowers play.

He's probably trying to figure out how to get Odor in the lineup

Is Mateo really ahead of Urias in the pecking order?  My guess would have been:

CF Mullins

C  Rutchsman

DH Santander

1B Mountcastle

SS Henderson

LF Hays

RF Stowers

3B Urias

2B Frazier

I think Mateo is ahead because SS defense is valued so much even though Urias won the GG last year.

Urias has hit well against Kluber in the past so I expect to see him in the lineup. I would be shocked to see Stowers

I can definitely see this being the lineup too.  Is Frazier better than Urias defensively at 2B? *Hopes this doesn't turn into another Frazier thread*

Since Urias is a better 3B than 2B, it could be argued that having Henderson at SS and Urias at 3B is a better defensive alignment. 

Henderson certainly has the potential to be an above average major league SS, so I'd prefer to have our best bats in the lineup.  I think we are sacrificing less on defense, than what we'd be giving up offensively with Mateo in the lineup.

Why Frazier over Urias? Is it just 8 million reasons?

I totally agree with you. Mateo wouldn't be an everyday player on my team, but I don't think Hyde thinks that way. T-minus ~5 hours to go!
