To be fair, he was barely out the second time and the throw was going home. He had a pretty decent game but there is room for improvement. I mean, he didn’t hit 5 home runs or hit for the cycle.

I'm sure you guys can feel the internal timing of the game as you watch it. On the first one, I knew he was going to try for second and I didn't think he stood a chance. I don't think he saw the ball carom back on the field. He thought the ball was going into the LF corner. The 2nd was just a good play on defense.

I just rewatched the highlights.  His 4 singles were all opposite field. Pretty impressive bat control.

I was surprised the throw was cut off, I thought they had a decent chance at the runner at the plate if the throw went through.   Adley did the right thing to run to 2B there and draw the throw.

I’d argue that his offense caught up by July 1 of last year.
