It's also possible that Mullins still has good acceleration, but not necessarily great top-end speed relative to others at this point. That could explain some of the mismatch of perception / results and the numbers (which represent a point-in-time max speed).

This is why Elias lets Mullins walk after 2025.  He will no longer have the speed for CF and on the wrong side of 30.

I would say its in line with his current age of 28. Few CF's are elite at 30 years old. I would say all of them have lost a step by then. Mullins has really dropped off this year, but is still effective for now.

That transition could work out perfect with Mullins, if Bradfield get's called up in 2025 and then takes over full time CF in 2026 when Mullins walks.
