But right, “nothing in his history says he will do anything but bleed every dollar out what he buys to enrich himself.”

Fun fact: Eve Rosenbaum’s father, Greg, was one of five co-founders of the Carlyle Group in 1987 along with David Rubinstein.  However, he ended up leaving the firm within a year and suing for breach of contract.

I don’t know whether David and Greg are currently on friendly terms.

I said, things he bought!!!

You honestly think the Orioles generate the kind of money that a billionaire wants/needs? The operating profit of the Orioles is chump change for this guy. They can make money from selling the team after holding it for years but the guy is 74.

That's exactly why I imagine it would be so tempting for him at his age.  This is a plug and play contending franchise-how often are sports franchises sold while on top-not many and that's why I think they'll sell at a premium to their valuation.  He's also a BASEBALL fan something I'm not of with JA.

As sold as the O’s are sold, the better it will be for everyone. I am euphoric at the possibility of this Angelos nightmare/curse being over after all these years!!!!!!

I am just saying, nothing business wise says he will be the owner we want.  I was one of thousands of Marylanders that lost their jobs when his group took a Fortune 500 company from greatness to bankruptcy while he made millions and there was no regard for the Marylanders who's lives destroyed.

I doubt he could be any worse

What place was this? I also worked at a company, a start up, that got bought by Carlyle, got chopped up, and then sold. I saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship before I got laid off.

Interesting.  Greg seems to have done okay for himself.   Eve went to school with my kids, and though I don’t know him, he seems to have had a successful career.

Anyone/anything including a three legged turtle would be better than anyone with the last name of Angelos!!!

Those of you pretending that there can be something/worse than Peter/John Angelos are FUNNY! They have screwed us fans and the franchise every way they could at every turn possible.

We used to call that a hatchet job but maybe that’s politically incorrect in this case.  The article sounds silly and anything but objective right from the getgo.

Unspeakably disrespectful to hatchets, no question.  This thread - which began with some of the best news I've heard as an Orioles fan in a very long time - remains poised to erupt into a full-blown dumpster fire.  I don't get it.
