Didn't SI just get busted for using AI to generate content with AI created "writers"? It's possible no one actually got paid to write it?

The article actually linked to an MLB.com article by Will Leitch, listing O's as the 10th likely landing spot.

Yes they did, so every SI article from someone who's name you don't recognize from like five years ago is now suspect.  Jon Conahan is also credited with frequent articles on the Astros and it may be that he has to file so much to get paid a living wage that all he can do is aggregate other web stories and throw a quick style pass on top.  May as well be AI if that's the case.

As the Orioles look for that top-of-the-line starter, former Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell could be a great option. Snell, 31 years old, is coming off an impressive season where he posted a 2.25 ERA in 180 innings.

According to Will Leitch of MLB.com, Baltimore ranks as one of the "likeliest" destinations for his services. Leitch writes that it's the perfect fit for the team and possibly for Snell.

Have we reached the point of the offseason where Trevor Bauer becomes an option?

As far as press goes around here… we haven’t gotten the #3 SP Elias talked about, we lost in the 1st rd last year with Kremer on the bump once, the Ravens are the #1 seed, Lamar is probably going to win MVP.  The lease agreement dragged on. Sale to Rubenstein.

If we signed him the Friday before the Ravens first playoff game this would fly under the radar locally and be forgotten by the following Monday. Of course, it comes up in ST, but by then the fans will just be happy that we got someone.

For all we hear about the pitching shortage and supply/demand imbalance, I feel like outside of the Yamamoto contract that the prices haven't been all that unexpected and/or outrageous. Add in the fact that GM's are taking their time with Cease, Snell and Montgomery.

A couple of things…

It doesn’t like Montgomery wants the NYY or the NYY want him. Especially considering that they tried to keep him off their 2022 postseason roster. It sounds like there’s a lot of animosity there. If there was ever a time for us to swoop in…

Uwasawa’s 45 day posting window ends at 5pm today. We’ll see if that is relevant to us.

At 4/53 million, should we have been in on Imanaga?  He was projected for 5/85 by MLBTR.

Some people say Imanaga could be a #3.  Some say a #4-#5.    Depends on that.

Reading about Imanaga, this has a chance to be a really cheap deal and a steal. Wonder if the Os even bothered to do any research on him?

It depends on who has the best scouting report on Imanaga.  According to BA he doesn’t sound like a steal but they could be wrong.

Scouting Report: Imanaga is a crafty lefthander with a good feel for pitching. His fastball sits 89-93 mph with solid riding life as a starter and touches 94-95 in short bursts. His main secondary pitch is an above-average, 82-85 mph splitter with late cut that induces ground balls. Imanaga’s success in MLB will hinge largely on the development of his slider. It’s currently a fringy offering at 80-83 mph that stays on one plane and gets barreled in the strike zone. He’s flashed the ability to throw it firmer and get chase swings, but it needs improvement to become an average pitch. He also has a below-average, 71-74 mph curveball he’ll throw as a change-of-pace offering. Imanaga mostly throws to his glove-side and can get one-sided in his repertoire, but he mixes and matches well to keep opponents off-balance. He has above-average control and keeps everything around the plate.

The Future: Imanaga’s feel for pitching gives him a chance to be a No. 4 or 5 starter. He may fit best as a swingman or bulk reliever on a contending team.
