This just makes no sense and reeks of Odor and Frazier. At least those guys had some upside with the bat. 

What was wrong with Frazier? We got 2 wins above replacement for 8 million. It's like going out to eat, expecting a decent meal and getting it.

I know that if you add his rWAR (1.7) to his fWAR (.3) it comes out to 2 wins above replacement but it doesn't work that way.

Frazier stopped hitting for power the second half of the season and the defensive metrics weren't kind to him. A lot of it was fans wanting to see the shiny new objects (Ortiz and Westburg) over a veteran with an established ceiling.

Frazier did contribute and was more valuable that Odor in 2022.
