Grade the Eflin Trade

I have this problem with a lot of the Elias moves.

I think the Eflin trade is a very good trade.

However he's not the level of pitcher I'd hoped they'd add.

It feels a little like it's a better off-season trade than a deadline trade.

This is where I'm at. That trade on its face isn't bad, we gave up little, but they are paying a lot of money for a mid pitcher.

Love it, got a solid number 3 with control into next season and didn’t really tap into any of the main trade assets everyone has been floating in trade talks.

This is a good point, if this was the only trade made minutes before the deadline I would like it not love it. Knowing we have a few days left to add more I really like making this move.

TBD. I'm meh on it if this is all they do for starting pitching. Love it if we also get someone better.

I like Eflin as a #4 this year and a guy for the rotation next season.   But, I hope he's not the only guy they add.   I'd still like to see another rotation arm added AND 2 relievers.

If he is the #3/#4 add-on AND we get a stud I’ll be blown away they added that level of talent as the innings eater. 

If he’s the big get then I’ll be mildly disappointed.

Elfin is a good choice as our # 3 SP . If they could add one more SP ( Fedde ?  Taillon?  )  , then we will be better prepared for this second half and 2025 season. 
However , our bullpen is crumbling , Seranthony is one piece, we need at least two more pieces to bullpen.

Unless we are willing to part with Holliday for Skubal.... with Miller down for a while and Crochet tanking his own trade value with the whole I won't pitch in the postseason without an extension.... it doesn't feel like there are a lot of great options here.
