Wondering the same thing. Gotta be something about his pitch mix and the Royals to pitch him over Bowman, for example. Think the key takeaway just might be a much better SO/9 rate. -

If you dont have a ton of faith in your pen, I think you need to go longer with your starter than maybe you prefer. The goal should be at least 20 outs, assuming he's pitching well. -

Hyde said Selby made it because of matchups and stuff. What i don't get is, if they feel this way about Selby, why hasn't he been on the 26 man roster all this time? Is he supposed to be a "secret weapon"? -
Eflin struggled pretty badly in his last start at Yankee Stadium, and after the game he made some reference to having had some “issues” pitching there the last couple times. He got roughed up there in July as well, when he was still with TBR, though he did pitch a gem there back in April. I would think the straight-line course of using him in Game 2 here and then in Game 3 of the ALDS (at home) if we get there makes the most sense, especially if he’s not 100% comfortable/confident about pitching in the Bronx at the moment. -

Fine with me. It's also fine with me if he doesn't ever get in, either. It's been 35 years since the ban, it's tiresome and exhausting. In some ways, he casts a shadow over the Hall of Fame that no one will ever really be able to match and that's not a good thing. Like, if he got in next year posthumously he's going to overshadow Ichiro and Sabathia and that's not fair to those guys. -
