That was the type of no run inning that we used to have—ones that still left you feeling good—that only the vagaries of fate kept us from scoring. Has the worm turned?

Well, I did not know they had three consecutive hits that recently, but I really am interested in winning the last time they had single single single.

And when they did, I’m wondering if they managed to avoid scoring a run, ha ha.

I remember reading a write up of Richie Zisk, in which it was said that”…he almost always swings for the fences, but is an excellent singles hitter,” and by golly we need guys who are excellent singles hitters.

If Bucknor keeps calling strikes that far outside the zone there’s no reason for Burnes to throw anywhere else.

I think the umpire is mentally flipping a coin on every call.

It’s actually pretty sad that there is computer proof of every mistake. These guys make, and it’s difficult to forgive me or human error, but the fact is that these guys are an anachronism. I think there are ways to deal with that and keep umpires, but it’s impossible to get rid of all the mistakes.

At his current 12 pitches/inning rate, Burnes could give us 8 innings. 7 would  be nice.
