Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Diamondbacks have signed free agent infielder Melvin Mora.

That was quick. The D'Backs agreed to trade Mark Reynolds to the Orioles only a few hours ago and have already locked up a replacement. Mora is 38 years old, but he still moves well and managed a decent .285/.358/.421 batting line as the Rockies' primary utilityman in 2010.

It is being reported that Mora has signed with Arizona.

I know this should have probably been put in the MLB section but to me (and many others) Mora will always be an Oriole first and foremost and plus it ties in to today's big news.

I totally expect Melmo to, one day, sign with the Oriole's then immediately retire.

He is an Orioles, as much as Brooks or Frank or Palmer. In some ways, being the best player during the bleak years is more endearing then being among the top Orioles of all time.

Well, this certainly improves the Dbacks' K numbers. Mora averages only 99 per 162 games compared to 200-something for Reynolds.
