The Astros' Owner and G.M. Have Long-Term Plans

Here we go. This is the time of game we've seen time and time again, teams get bit by the Yankee stadium bug. Where a pop up by a left handed hitter can turn into a HR.

Nine out, three runs.

Yankees made a big mistake shutting down the old stadium. The new one has a corporate feel, it has no mystique. No one fears playing in the new stadium like they did in the old one.

The Yankees finished the season by losing 7 out of their final 8 games.

vs. RED SOX ) 1-3

vs. ORIOLES ) 0-3

vs. ASTROS )). 0-1

The old lineup finally cracked. They held on just enough to get the WC though. By the way, should they really have celebrated a WC spot the way they did? To me, the real postseason starts Thursday.

I finally saw it the last week of the season vs. Boston. It's sterile. The only life is out there in the bleachers.

The current Yankee Stadium is very much like the 2nd Yankee Stadium (1976-2008.)

The original Yankee stadium (1923-1973) was much different than either one of the latter two.

The first game that I ever attended was a doubleheader between the Yankees and the White Sox in July of 1971. That stadium compared to the last 2 stadiums (the one from 1976-2008 and the current one) is like 2 different worlds. They completely gutted the original stadium following the 1973 season, and opened the "renovated" stadium in 1976. The only things that they had that were similar were the geographic location of the infield, and the overall structure that was holding the building up.

The Houston Astros aren't winning, but owner Jim Crane and G.M. Jeff Luhnow say that it's just a matter of time.

llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll 2016:

Even though they lost to the Royals in the 2015 A.L.D.S. (3 games to 2), Crane and Luhnow must be very proud (and feeling very prophetic about) their Astros.

Their team has come a long way since the OP, for sure.

It will be interesting to see if they can keep up their latest success on a long-term basis ...... starting with the 2016 season.
