We made the Yankees better because of how well we played. That team does not have 94 wins if we weren't on their tail for the last five weeks. They stepped it up when they had to and got the job done to this point because we applied the pressure by winning so much.

The Red Sox lost 13 of 18 to us, so it isn't like we didn't take out some abuse on them also. The only difference right now in the standings is that NY scored on Andrew Bailey and we didn't in that Sunday game.

Seriously. Outside of Jeter (and even that is questionable) I don't get how anyone on that team is endearing to the fans. It would totally suck the fun out of baseball for me.

Just think though, Yankee fans will never ever know the joy of a season like we've had.

Man, thanks for bringing me back to the real deal! This IS the most fantastic year and a truly magical one for our team in eons. We will always remember the 2012 Orioles, no matter!

Well if you want to think about it really weird. If we had even taken one game from the Yanks in games 4-6, we'd be tied. Not that I'm musing over that mind you. I can't believe we on the last game of the season have a chance albeit small to win the division. Hell I am still amazed we're in the playoffs!

Sickening.... I still don't get it - how the **** does someone root for the yankees??? It's like rooting for someone to catch a fish in a barrel who holds a shotgun.

money, money, money- you know what- it's ruined baseball... to a certain extent

Well, I grew up a Yankees fan. I was born in NJ and my dad was a Yankees fan. So that's probably how...

I don't root for them now obviously. They're the ultimate symbol of capitalism.

BTW, I was thinking of moving to Baltimore (Mr. Vernon). Not for any reason. I work in Virginia. But I used to commute from Baltimore on the MARC, and I could do it again. Am I crazy? Rent wouldn't be that different...

I understand Yankee fans like that. One of my good friends is from New York so I understand why she's a Yankees fan more easier than I understand why someone from my neck of the woods would be especially someone with no connections ot NY.

How do you leave a wounded Saltalamacchia on base in OT? Do they seriously not have anyone in the dugout who can outrun a healthy Salty, let alone a lame Salty? To prevent compounding the problem, how do you bring a .109 hitter up to the plate in an attempt to drive Salty home with the go ahead run? Head scratchers.

One thing seems to be apparent now....if the Orioles are to go anywhere in this post season' date=' they will have to do it on their own. Expecting "help" from teams like the Red Sux is unrealistic.[/quote']

Before I got too angry about my life, I would have been able to express my profound hatred for the MFY and Sux with some eloquence. Unfortunately, I fear that is no longer true.

Almost three hours later I'm still trying to hold my anger at the MFRS! I swear they did that ish on PURPOSE! Hit BobD in the ear flap last weekend. Folded in a very winnable game last night.

F a bunch of sad, sorry, stubborn LOSERS like that! Petty little *****es! *spit*

I couldn't figure out why the Boston shortstop was playing behind 2nd base on the game winning Ibanez ground ball hit in the big hole at short. There's 2 outs, runners on first and second, the left-handed Ibanez at bat, with a left-hander on the mound who was throwing everything away to Ibanez. Not exactly the right time for that overused left-handed hitter shift.

    • Spitting image of Troy Glaus.  He is a large human being.
    • I'm far from a swing expert,  but I really feel that swing is going to translate incredibly well to big league pitching.  His hands are quick as hell, compact when slapping gappers, and extends just enough when he launches missiles out of AAA stadiums.  You don't see that with big guys often.
    • To say that Miller has had a significant arm injury would be, to me, the same as saying Bradish has had a significant arm injury. Would you agree?
    • Mullins is a CF, Miller is a closer who has already had a significant arm injury. The two are not equivalent.  Basically they would want to trade him (given the high probability of pitcher’s injuries) if/before something happens to him.
    • I’d like to see Kjerstad start tomorrow with righty Hunter Greene on the mound. Kjerstad started for Santander Wednesday so pretty much no chance Santander gets another day of rest this fast so I could see a scenario where Kjerstad plays for Cowser who has been ice cold the past week+ both offensively and defensively. Reds have a small park so it’s not as if Kjerstad would have to cover a ton of extra ground if he was to start in left.
    • Yeah that's a good point about trading Miller for as much as possible -- implying quantity as well as quality.  What if the A's trade for Basallo and he turns out to be as mediocre as the start to this season?  The O's will probably trade more players if they don't have to trade one of Mayo or Basallo, and as deep as our farm system is quantity and quality should be able to be had together.  But if the A's ask for one of the top 3 guys they have to accept they won't get much of anyone else -- if anyone else.  More players from a deep system increases the chance of multiple quality players. Defense is important to everyone.  I can't remember the last time the O's had so many good hitting prospects with such questionable defense.  But there were many years I was not paying attention, so maybe it's not such a new thing.
    • The age is a problem for the A’s because they are not ready to win now and he is already at his prime years. This is the whole reason that they would be reading a 25 yr old Miller. The future is what they are building toward.
