And I was just about to say we should think about taking a flyer on him at the deadline. Saunderesque you might say. He can't seem to put two good ones together though.

He did have 2 good starts in a row before today.

Not really the same line. Bedard had a 2 to 1 SO to BB ratio.

He has looked good and would be a cheap option for us.

I meant in terms of innings pitched, and earned runs.

Bedard pitched exactly 6 innings, while Tillman pitched 6-plus innings, also.

Bedard took a shutout into the 8th inning before departing with one out and a man on base.

The relief pitcher (Hector Ambriz) immediately gave up a home run, allowing Bedard's baserunner to score.

That's 4 good starts in his last 5 outings.

Can you imagine him having that kind of start for us and having the back end of our BP to turn it over to instead of Hector?

Bedard seems to have remained healthy the last two years. I'd rather take a chance he can help us than Norris. The Astros will want too much for Norris. We can get EB for cheap, cheap.

If you start a thread in the Orioles Talk section about the possibility of acquiring him, the only thing that I ask is that you give this thread a plug in your OP. :)

Yet, he wouldn't work for us. I saw somebody saying Marcum would be a good target. Really?
