I supported the O's decision not to resign Reynolds because I thought there was a good chance he would have a melt down. It can happen fast as players age who have a hard time making contact. But good Lord! What a meltdown!! http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?id=reynoma01&year=&t=b

I feel bad for Reynolds, but so happy the O's made the right call with him.

I think the strikeouts are a coordination thing, the ability to put the bat on the ball, rather than swinging at junk. Sheriff and deputy are mirror images in that respect.

Yep. He really doesn't swing at bad pitches. He just can't hit good ones.

You have to cheat and use the Orioles section if you want replies Tony.
But some members will reward you for using the right forum. :D

I've redirected both of the other threads here.

Weams or Paul will probably merge them when they sign back on.

I was thinking this. The Yankees need everything, power included, although Reynolds hasn't hit a home run since June 28th.

Fact: Reynolds' career .872 OPS in August is his highest in any month.... while his career .696 in September/October is his lowest.

Yeah, I actually think we should consider signing him. We're going to need some luck and maybe we can catch a Reynolds hot streak. Worst case, rosters expand in September and we bench him.
