2014 ERA: 3.36

If you take off that disastrous May 21 outing when he gave up 8 ER and lasted only one inning, his ERA would be 2.97. In fact, much of his ERA is padded by three of his 29 starts - May 26 (the very next start after the above) where he gave up 6 ER in 5.2 IP, and April 23 when he gave up 7 ER in 5.2 IP. In his other 26 starts he has a 2.25 ERA. If you took off the three worst starts for every starting pitcher, I wonder how taking off these outliers would affect the ERA rankings?

For Tillman...probably about as much as putting him on a different team with a worse defense.
