You may be right. And I will say again that "saving Wilson" and losing a game because of it is a poor risk/decision.

Once Wright had 86 pitches through 4 innings, any thought of not using Wilson had to go out the window. Wilson just pitched 3.1 IP. Clearly using him as the long guy didn't turn out to be a big deal. If you want to keep Wilson, option Wright after the game. He is going to get optioned in a couple days anyway when Gausman is back.

I think Wright pitches Friday and will be sent out for Gausman. He left 3 batters for Wright. Where they were in the lineup dictated the moves.

And it's June and they want Wilson here I bet through the Sox series at least. Interested to hear what Buck has to say after the game. My only point was he was only commiting to 3 hitters with Wright.
