Salty is the type of low risk signing that we should make this year. It would just be for the mlb min. Joseph, Clevenger and Salty can all fit in on a 25 man roster, even if we do bring Davis back. Signing him also maximizes Clevenger's flexibility. He can play 1b/DH/C.

It makes a lot of sense. I wonder why more teams are not in on him.

They probably are. Since whoever igns him will only have to pay the minimum, it is basically what team Salty thinks gives him the best shot at playing time and/or increasing his value next year and beyond. If ha and his agent feels that Baltimore gives him that opportunity if they let Wieters go, it makes sense.
