Shift may have cost us a run

I believe the thinking behind shifting for for a guy like Seager is that you're better off having him adjust his swing and spray the ball than having him pull the ball with power against a regular alignment. The idea is to give up up a few opposite field singles to save some extra-base hits. Kind of like inviting a LH power hitter to bunt against the shift if he wants to.

Good point. Even though his hits are even, all of his homers are to RF. 1 out, nobody on, a base hit does not usually beat you. Will be interesting to see how they were playing him in other situations.
