Anyway, I like Mancini, seems like a good dude.  Gotta see him hitting like this, this time next year before I can feel comfortable with him being a sure thing.  Orioles history has had a few guys that have had one year wonders.

Mancini has exceeded my expectations in every conceivable way.

- More power than I expected

- Better strike zone judgment than I expected.  

- Faster runner than I expected.  

- Has been competent in the OF.

- Better defensive 1B than I expected.  

He's just a way better overall baseball player than I expected.    I'm praying that this proves true in the long run.

The only thing he has surprised me on was his speed. He is just so goofy and gangly that I thought I might have a chance against him in a foot race.

I hope the Orioles don't do something stupid like trade him.

Yes.  Trey is a beast.  He is someone who adjusts as a player and he plays with controlled intensity.   He will be a keeper.

Given that the Orioles have one worthwhile outfielder under contract beyond 2017 (and that's AJ), I doubt it. Pending something drastic, you're looking at the 2018 Opening Day left fielder in Mancini.

Sure, he'll be on the team next year.  I just think it's reasonable to wonder if he can sustain what he's doing right now a year from now.

By watching his approach at the plate, I don't see why he wouldn't sustain what he's doing. He's done it at every level thus far.
